Akshardham Temple, also known as Swaminarayan Akshardham, is a Hindu temple located in Delhi, India. It was inaugurated in 2005 and is considered one of the largest Hindu temples in the world. The temple was built by the BAPS (Bochasanwasi Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha) organization.
The temple complex is spread over an area of 100 acres and is designed in the traditional Hindu architectural style. It consists of several buildings, including the main temple, which is dedicated to Lord Swaminarayan, as well as exhibition halls, water shows, and gardens.
The temple is known for its intricate carvings and sculptures, which depict scenes from Hindu mythology and Indian history. The main temple has 234 pillars, 9 domes, and is made of pink sandstone and Italian Carrara marble.
Apart from the temple, the complex also has an IMAX theatre, which shows a film on the life of Swaminarayan, as well as an exhibition hall that showcases the contributions of Indian saints and leaders. The temple also has a musical fountain show, which is a popular attraction among visitors.
Akshardham Temple is a popular tourist destination and attracts thousands of visitors every day. It is open to the public throughout the year, except on Mondays. Visitors are required to adhere to a strict dress code and are not allowed to carry any electronic devices inside the temple complex.
How to reach Akshardham Temple: The nearest Metro Station is the ” Akshardham” Metro Station (blue line). Once you are out of the station take right, and after walking 300feet, take right again. Walk 800 feet and you get there.

Hours: From 9:30am to 6:30pm for the temples (Different timing for exhibitions and shows). Closed on Mondays.
